whenever you want to, run them til their bald if ya want to. most guys i know would change them at about 1/2" inch of tread left and they would go out and burn them up just before they changed them. personally I'd dump them ASAP, mine on my '01 only lasted 2 weeks. Shreaded the hell out of them on the rocks. the stock tires are ok for tooling around the yard, but otherwise they are worthless, Too light, too weak and spin way too much.

Thanks pipebomb.

BTW, the thread has 5 grooves. Obviosly first the middle groove will go and then the adjacent 2 grooves and lastely the 2 grooves at the edge of the tire.

So are you saying, when the 5 groves are levelled with the tire, then you will change the tire.

stock , brand new =100% what i am asking is at what % of tire tread left do you replace them? what tire % will safetly get me back to my truck.what precent if i ride in gravel? what % if i ride in dirt at 75 mph? will 50% tire tread work well if i am on reserve?

Hey night I have never had stock tires on a banshee. I have some pure sport bandits on mine now , they have pretty good traction. but i bet it is fun to spin alot

A new set of aftermarket tires makes a huge differance over stock, it's like adding 10hp, if there is some ware, dont' bother, just change them, you'll thank yourself for it! :bolt:

you cant just determine when to replace a worn tyre by its precent of tread loss. it depends on the perticular riders perfrernce. i have seen guys out on some trails with 90% worn tires and they are still going strong. other guys replace their tyres after every dozen tanks of gas.

it just depends on youre perfreence and if youre tyre is still working OK for you. do youre stock tyres still do everything you want them to? if so, dont bother replacing them.

i guess it just depends on how much you can tolerate the slippin and slidin. if your climbing hills, it won't take much to be wanting some new treads. i just waited until i had holes poked in the sidewall of one, which didn't take too long anyway. my ps bandits have taken 10x the pounding the stockers did. but it's entirely up to you, your riding style and your budget. since we live close to bill balance we just go and get razars from him, I think it was $100 dollars for all four tires practically brand new, only used in one race, and he threw in like three sets of back tires for free cause they had a couple of holes in them. They wear kinda fast on the banshee though, we put them on both our 400ex and shee and the ones on the 400 still look brand new, but the ones on the shee have only like 1/4 inch left mostly due to spinning

i run my tires untill there bold and you cant grab any traction but when u got a shitie job you have to do what you got to do

Now, you are pulling my leg, but question that rises, which leg of mine are you pulling?
