When I am 1/4 ways into throttle I give it gas and it don't want to go, so I have to double throttle it. When it goes, it opens and hits peak fast and hangs there. My plus are wet around the first 5-8 rings from the top the plug(from the part it says, BR8ES).

I have a 320 main jet, 4th clip postion on stock needles(from blunt end), T'5, v-force 3's, K&N w/ pro flo adapter, and a outerwear modded lid w/o snorkel. I think it is jetted to high for a 1000 ft elevation and 65-90 degrees F.

I also took out the Toomey needles(dynojet) or should I put it back in at 3 or 4 position? I am going to put in a 300 main, but which needle and clip position is what I am having trouble with.

Sounds like you are runnin' with a main that is too fat for your mods. When you check your plugs they should show you being too rich. I would step down a few sizes, not jus  t one and put your needle in the middle clip.....

I'd agree, your main is too fat. Possibly needle also. You should be around a 290-300 at highest. Pro-Flow in the airbox is somewhat restrictive, you MIGHT even have to step all the way down to a 280. Id say needle in middle position, might even want to try out those Dynojet needles. They made a little difference in mine.

Little advice...if you can keep it dry, ditch that pro-flow and get clamp-on filters. Your 320's will be perfect then, you wont believe the diffference.

Sounds like a plan. I will try a 290 main and use the Toomey needles with the clip in the middle position. I will go down to 280 main if it is still rich. My airbox lid mod is from EHSracing.com if you want a visual.

It won't be till friday since I work nonstop all week. I knew somethin was wrong when a Z400 pulled away from me in a race. His mods was just exhaust and K&N.

Toomey (Dynojet) needles don't have a middle clip (there's 6 clips total)

4th down from the blunt end is stock, you'll end up on the 3rd or 4th clip from the blunt end with those mods...depends on how well your motor likes those cages...

I know when I installed my T5's the instructions on the Toomeys needles say to put them at the 4th position down from the blunt end. I would start there and change the mains. Also depends on what elevation you are at. Toomey gives you a #270 for 0-3000ft and a #280 for 3000 and above as a starter with some recommended mods to the airbox. just my 2 cents...

Sorry...Toomey may make a great pipe.

His jet kits are for shit.

You could very easily change your main jet for every 1000 to 1500 ft of elevation, not every 3000.

His kit will get you close. His claims are they are the correct jets, period...isn't always true.

Your bike is unique to you...period. Reading your plugs and listening to your bikes are the only sure ways, short of a dyno and air/fuel meter...period.

No one here can tell you the exact jetting...not even Toomey. We all, however, can get you in the ballpark....

Installed the 290 main, toomey needles on the 4th clip from the blunt end, and 1.5 turns on the air screws. Seems to have more jump to it  . And I don't have to find the power band, it's just all there. I am gonna do a plug check later.

When my buddy put t-5's on his he used the stock needle with the clip on the second from the bottom position and it ran great. Seemed to run better than with the needles that came with the kit. Also if you aren't going through much water I would get the Clamp on K&N's they help it breathe much better.
