Dinner Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 (edited) Hey, got a little question to lead me towards what i need to fiddle with next. Been working on my jetting all day today, starting to get a bit closer. My Mods are: DG Pipes(stock silencers), K&N W/O, Boyesen Reeds, Needles are not stock(not sure what kind, they have 6 settings) My elevation is around 900ft, its 20 degrees C (68-70 F). Mains right now are 310, 25 pilot, clip on 3rd from the bottom on the needle. Air screws 2 turns out When i get into 4,5,6 if i dont have it screaming, it will take a bit of punching the throttle to bring it up into the power band. It cuts out at low throttle in 4,5,6. Do you think my jetting is off, or something else is wrong here Pics(sorry for the quality) Edited April 22, 2006 by Dinner Quote
batoutofshell Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 you have to cut them plugs to see the bottom ring but I would say your fat go down to 290 on the mains 27.5 on the pilots Quote
Dinner Posted April 22, 2006 Author Report Posted April 22, 2006 I put the clip on the 5th notch and the bogging/cutting out at around half has gotten a lot better. I did some plug chops on a new set and the color is light brown on the white base, and a really light brown on the tip, so i think im getting there I put a 290 in earlier and it was a bit lean, so im going to put in my 300 and fiddle with the needle and air screw Quote
sheenut05mx Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 how is the low end does it want idle clean or will it load up and foul plugs? You shouldn't need a 27.5 pilot at 900ft for just reeds. I run a 22.5 pilot and 1 clip higher on needle and a 270 main Quote
Dinner Posted April 23, 2006 Author Report Posted April 23, 2006 It idles good, hasnt fouled plugs since the winter. Its raining fricken nuts here so i wont be able to go work on her today Im going to put in my 300 and see how it likes that. I was also wondering is there an easy to adjust floats, or do you just bend them to where you want them. Or should i just get new floats. When it sits over night it lets fuel drip out of the over flow and when its idling there is a bit of oil left in the left exhaust, and im pretty sure its the stupid floats Quote
