oil mix ratio

i was wondering what the mix ratio was on the banshee. forgot what it was over the winter! is it 24:1?

You should probably search for something like this, but most people run 32 to 40:1 depending on what oil you run and many other things.

Do a search, you'll find tons of info. Stock, yamaha recommends 24:1 with their oil.

i run amsoil oil. yamaha recommends 24:1 but isnt this a little rich? i have no engine mods but full procircuit exhaust, vforce reed valves, cut airbox, boost bottle

32:1 here. You will get alot of diffrent answers on this one and what type of oil everyone uses. Like stated do a search and you will get all the answers you want.

when i got my new banshee the other week the dealer filled it up with yamalube mixed at 15:1 for break in. after the first tank of gas he said to run it at 25:1 using lamalube or 20:1 if i decide to use another brand of 2 cycle oil.

 

i checked in the owners manual and it says 25:1 using yamalube or castrol r30, and 20:1 for any other kind of 2cycle oil.

 

personally im not totally sure on what ratio to run yet, so i have decided to play it safe for now and just mix at 25:1. i have heard of people running these things at up to 100:1 using some kind of amsoil but i think thats just crazy.

man oh man, you must have been trying to send smoke signals , 32:1 is plenty safe after a tank of break in mixture.

yeah it was pretty bad, espically when i warm it up on half choke in the driveway. it looked like a smoke machine. amazingly the plugs looked fine after the first tank.
