ghostryder420 Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 I have a 2006 banshee, does anyone know if my banshee has different carbs on it or what? I have a Clymer's manual for 1987- 2004 and the pictures of the top of the carbs seems different then what i see when i take my carbs off. I do not see my needle jet or anything... mine seems electronic to me. Does mine have some kind of electronic metering? Can anyone help? I am new to jetting so maybe I'm missing something or maybe I'm just an idiot. Thanks for any help. Quote
Banshee~ Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Yes, those big box looking things on top of the carbs are your Throttle Over Ride System (TORS). It kills the engine if your carbs stick. To get the needles out you have to unscrew the carb tops off (under the tors unit) the carb. Then read your clymers book to tell you how to get your needles out. Im not sure which year they added the TORS unit. Quote
ghostryder420 Posted March 26, 2006 Author Report Posted March 26, 2006 oh that sucks. Ive been hearing all about TORS and TORS removal kits but never bothered to really look at it. Now I'm trying to jet and I guess its time to learn. thanks. need to get me an updated clymers. Quote
Wicked98Shee Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 ya can just totally unplug all the tors connections and it will be disabled. the tors kit make for a nice easy throttle pull tho. Quote
4everwantedbanshee Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 are you saying if you put the tors eleminator kit it would make the throttle harder to pull. Quote
Wicked98Shee Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 if you install the tors removal kit the throttle will be easier to pull ... less springs for your thumb to work aginst .... but if you just unplug the tors from the throttle, carbs, tors unit it will be disabled and cannot effect the way ur engine runs Quote
ghostryder420 Posted March 28, 2006 Author Report Posted March 28, 2006 i got it all worked out, thanks guys. my TORS is still hooked up for now, we'll see what happens down the road. I installed new pipes and reeds and it seems to be running well. tomorrow night after i get out of work I'll be able to take it out and crank it WOT to see if i'm jetted correctly. thanks for all the help. peace Quote
watkins Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 I'd really consider getting rid of that TORs crap, it just causes issues and makes it a pain in the ass to work on the carbs. I ditched TORs on my banshee when it was new before I even fired her up. Quote
