Dirtbike Tires

[PUSH THE THROTTLE]

Anybody know of any good websites for dirtbikes? Got a buddy that has a CRF450X and he wants new tires but we can't find any good information on what people are running. I looked at a couple of forums but the info seems like it's all from a young easily manipulated kids instead of people who know anything. He's looking for a recommenddation for intermediate terrain tires used for trail riding at an above average pace and skill level. Any help would be appreciated. I know some of you guys have dirtbikes on here and I like to keep them seperate as much as possible from the banshee site but I just can't find any decent info.

i was lookin at sum tires at a shop the other day they were around 50 bucks for a rear but u could probly find them cheaper elseware i think they were made by Kenda called Klaws or sumthin looked pretty beefy. I dont think there much of a science to a dirtbike tire kinda just look at the pattern and ply

I bought my tires and crap from www.motosportoutlet.com, they have free shipping on everything over 100 and have a pretty good selection of stuff. I bought a kenda millville for my old RM 250, that was a nice tire, beefy as hell. Seemed to work good in the softer terrain i took it in, this is mostly where i rode it when i had that tire. Its meant for medium terrain, the south wick is more for soft. I rode it like once with that tire then traded it, oh well!!

rocky mountian sales the tires, I buy everything from atv's and bike from there- best prices and service.

 

I run michelin starcross and love them. But there are alot of good tires out there it just comes down to name brands IMO. Side wall hardness is tha main diff with the tires of same terrain.

Yea, I run michelin s12 front tires on all my bikes besides my Rm85

The s-12 and m-12 series tires are some of the best, some will tell you they wear fast, but they must be riding on roads. I'm running a IRC VE-40 on the rear now, good traction and don't seem to get the knobbies chunked when in the rocks. Tails I ride are mostly sand and gravel type with the occasional hard packed. I mostly ride single trac, even in the woods, it's mostly sand but the rocky areas tend to damage tires made for sand. Good luck whatever you chose.

duno much about dirtbike tires but if he hasnt already tell him to visit www.thumpertalk.com its the biggest dirtbike forum out there, there are some kids but mostly guys that know a lot of good information.
