banshee223 Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 My shee is a 2000 and my mods are listed in my sig, but I recently went to a local sanddrag track which is a 100 yds. and I absolutly couldn't get any traction with my -3.5in swingarm, so I figured maybe I need a longer swing arm so that it will transfer more weight. I went riding to day in some sand and still no traction, do you think it is because my axle is a +4. Do you think I need a stock length or maybe shorter length axle. I will also ride this bike in the sand like at little sahara, OK so if I can get by with a stock length axle that would be better than getting a drag axle. But I want to get traction and it's not working for me. I'm running Skat Trak Extremes 21/12/8 with 9 paddles, please can some one tell me what I need to do to get traction. Quote
banshee tuner Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 A stock axle will be better, a raptor or blaster axle is narrower and will do even better. What tires are you running? Pro wedge or maxxis 4-snow will do well on the sand. Quote
wesw Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 you need a +4 or 6 swinger for sand. that short swinger if for flat tracking where you need it. buy another swinger. it wil lmake all the difference. Quote

locogato11283 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 so you are not getting traction with a -3.5" swinger and 9 paddle extremes? seems wierd to me but ok. you should be getting crazy traction with you sittin right over the rear tires like you are. going longer on the swingarm wont make this any better.. sounds to me like you need more paddle but like i said, i cant imagine trying to run a -3.5" swinger at the drags..i dont think the swingarm length is your problem here. He also said that there was no reason for me not getting traction with the -3.5 swingarm. We will see when I get my new clutch from Jeff in. Jeff is one hell of a guy. I will definetly be doing more business with him in the future. Quote
