daryn c Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 hey i just opened it up down the roade and its all good till about 5th-6th gear then it shakes so bad it scares the crap outta me .... what do yall think it is?.. bad front bearings? Quote
twincylinder Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 I just recently had the same problem. the biek would shake so bad at high speeds you couldnt hold on..Turns out the new tires i bought had flatspots in them really BAD. Company hooked me up with new ones though. Quote
daryn c Posted March 11, 2006 Author Report Posted March 11, 2006 oh oh .. thanks dude , i just rememberd that my bike had ben sittin up for like 3+years before the tires were aird up, so that caused the bald spot.. so i guess ill be gettin me some tires realy soon , thanks for pointing that out Quote
Blue Duece Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 try a tits alignment and a scotts steering stabilizer then you can let go of the bars at 80mph Quote
macgillivary Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 i had this problem too, so i blocked up my back end and checked it out get the back tires in the air and start it up, put it in gear and get it going, check to see if its wobbling, take your tires off and check again if its still shaking its a bent hub or axle, but if its steady could be a flat spot or a rim mine ended up being a slightly tweaked axle Quote
fastbanshee4u Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Alignment, bearings, bad tie rod, tires,Take your pick. When sitting still do you have bake and forth play when you turn the bars left to right just a bit.Jack the front up and look for loose parts wiggle side to side and up and down,if there is play at a- armto frame bushings it will not cause the problem. when bike is on ground measure the space between front of wheels and at the back of front wheels.I usually pick the center knobs, the front should be 1/4" less then the back.So the front wheels actually point in1/4. shakes then tires likely,Wants to wonder around the road alignment wrong likely. daryn c Posted March 11, 2006 Author Report Posted March 11, 2006 90% sure it is my tires cuz they have ben sitting with flats Quote
