nv529 Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 (edited) back in 99 my father got a brand new banshee he kept it stock all that year, during the winter he had the top end rebuilt at one of our local dealers. they also installed a set of FMF fatties, turbine core 2's,Pro Tech over size air filter adapto,K & N filter, modified drilled out air box cover, white bro's boost bottle, and FMF carbon fiber reeds for him during the rebuild. the bike was only riden during the summers of 1999 and 2000 so its been sitting up for a couple years. I decided to buy the bike off him I'm in the processes of rebuilding the topend and I noticed minor pinging on the left piston. I'm not 100% what the stock jetting was on this bike(because I never owned or worked on one.) but it has 240 main jets. my question is does different brand jets number differently? because everyone I hear have like 300+ mains so I wasn't sure what the deal was well I'm going to change out the mains but I'm not sure whats a good base line to start off with.. I live in michigan my area is around 500+ above sea level.. Edited March 9, 2006 by nv529 Quote
Toybreaker Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 buy 290-330 (all of them)mains and 25-30 (same here)pilots. get a carb sync tool too. Read the jetting FAQ's Tuning is tedious but very rewarding Have fun. Quote
fastbanshee4u Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 280 to 300 mains and 27.5 for the pilots .You did put new gas in it right.Old gas would have very low octane. Quote

I can't waiting to go riding I haven't touched a dirt bike or a quad in 3 years! Quote
badbanshee01 Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 With my mods in my sig., I live in michigan about 500 ft. and I have 320 mains, stock pilots, needle on 4th clip at about 30 degree temps. Probally go to 310's in the summer. Quote
Banshee~ Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 Id start with 300 mains, 27.5-30 pilots, needle in the middle position, 1.5 turns out...that should be pretty close because its cold there. Quote
