  1. I went out riding over the weekend and all a sudden I lost my clutch. at first I thought I've broken a clutch cable until I came home and check it over the cable is good. so I knew it was something inside the tranny.. I took the clutch pack apart and the shaft that disengauges the clutch broke! my question is how do I get the rest of the remaining shaft out of the case??? the shaft broke at about 2-3inches away from the throw out plate so the rest of the shaft is still inside of the motor.
  2. I know this sounds like dumb question but can I remove the slider and needle just by unscrewing the tops with the carbs still in the intake boots?? I don't want to have to take both carbs off the intake boots if I can get around it because its such peta to get them back on!! but if worst comes to worst I'll do it anyways.. oh and BTW thanks for all the help guys you all rock in my book!
  3. it turned out that my pilot was a lil too lean. I got most of the flat spot out you really don't notice it when riding arounb now. but if you let the bike idle for a couple seconds and then punch the gas there a very small flat spot. I'm going switch out the pilots anyways what should I step up to 27.5s?
  4. I'm running 290 mains(I'm going to change to 310 this weekend to do some winter riding), stock pilots, and stock location on the needle clip. I have this small flat spot in the powerband thats really low in the RPM range 0-1/4 throttle it seem to bog down and then the power hits like a bat out of H*LL.. the bike isn't running lean up top so I'm thinking I need to tweek the pilots or change them out.. I'm 500ft above sea level running 94 octane gas 28:1 ratio all mods listed in sig..
  5. yea I drained and cleaned out the gas tank already.. BTW the bike isn't even put back together yet I waiting on my cyclinders to get back for machining she's getting bored and honed .030" over. I can't waiting to go riding I haven't touched a dirt bike or a quad in 3 years!
  6. back in 99 my father got a brand new banshee he kept it stock all that year, during the winter he had the top end rebuilt at one of our local dealers. they also installed a set of FMF fatties, turbine core 2's,Pro Tech over size air filter adapto,K & N filter, modified drilled out air box cover, white bro's boost bottle, and FMF carbon fiber reeds for him during the rebuild. the bike was only riden during the summers of 1999 and 2000 so its been sitting up for a couple years. I decided to buy the bike off him I'm in the processes of rebuilding the topend and I noticed minor pinging on the left piston. I'm not 100% what the stock jetting was on this bike(because I never owned or worked on one.) but it has 240 main jets. my question is does different brand jets number differently? because everyone I hear have like 300+ mains so I wasn't sure what the deal was well I'm going to change out the mains but I'm not sure whats a good base line to start off with.. I live in michigan my area is around 500+ above sea level..
