hmhero Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 I picked up a 94 for CHEAP CHEAP.. Couldn't resist it was so cheap. Been riding 4 strokes for a few years, had a 250r before that. It was rode very little, has great compression, doesn't want to idle.. It has sat for a few years so i plan on cleaning the carbs and getting fresh fuel in it. Im looking for advice on where to start. I want to make it into a fast duner, Not worried about suspension work right now, Just engine mods. 50+ Hp for now and then 85+ later. Maybe a set of t-5's a rejet, air filters, cool head, boost bottle and some reed cages? Then later this year a Cheetah cub, and some Wiseco Race light pistons.. Do i sound on the right track? Anyone have any used parts for sale for a good price? Thanks, Hero Quote
broke Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Yes, and no. I would start with a little bit better pipe if your plans include a Cub in the future. T-5s aren't bad pipes, they just are not going to let that Cub really shine. Cleaning the carbs is definately the first step, you are right about that. Air filters are a definate also. The Cool Head or any manufacturers head shouls work fine with the Cub down the road. I have had great luck with V-Force reeds, but do a search on them. They can also be reused with the cub. And the boost bottle.......... I'm not even going to go there. Quote
Wallrat Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 get a clymers first thing. Pull apart your carbs and clean em. Let us know what jets are in there and we can probably help you get it purring. Oh and forget that strap on turd boost bottle Quote
hmhero Posted February 25, 2006 Author Report Posted February 25, 2006 As for where its jetted.. Im sure its stock jetting. The whole 4 wheeler is stock, it still has the original tires on it. Even the original 94 decals are on it. Quote
banshee tuner Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Go with a set of rocket pipes for that cub in the future. Get the cool head, v-force reeds, adjustable timing plate for now. Quote
Wallrat Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 I'd reconsider doing engine mods before suspension. Stock banshees are a rough ride, especially in chopped up sand. If it were me I'd go w/ pipes and filters, and maybe a timing plate, which really wakes the bike up, then hold off on further engine mods until you have better suspension. Once you hit about 50-60 HP you'll need a longer swingarm and re-valved rear shock anyway, so might as well give your body a break and do it sooner. Alot of folks are suggesting drag pipes, which work great for dragging and making the most HP, but they're not really all that friendly for general duning. I think you had the right idea from the start w/ T5's. Good all-around pipes that are easy to ride with. Quote
