Wicked98Shee Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 the bore would be 64.5mm or .020 over. Quote
Banshee~ Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 I wouldent buy used pistons when you can get a complete topend wiesco rebulid kit for like $150. Getting your crank welded would help if your running more compression than stock. It wont give you power, but it will prevent your crank from seperating. Quote
banshee tuner Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Buy a new top end kit so you know what you got. Quote
PassionRE Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Wait to bore until after the porting...makes for a much better outcome.....Jim Quote
banshee tuner Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Since we are on the topic, do you have to bore after a port job or can a hone do just fine? Quote
Shee-Male Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Since we are on the topic, do you have to bore after a port job or can a hone do just fine? 476532[/snapback] same thing, you wouldn't set up a jug in a bore stand for .020, you just hone it all out. It's a better Idea to do all your porting and then have the jugs honed to their finished size. Quote
lian Posted February 21, 2006 Author Report Posted February 21, 2006 what problems could accur if i i went with used pistons Quote
lowriderb Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 piston failure.. and this is what could happen if you had one.. blown cylinders/head, shot crank, broken cases, crank seals, ect.. its a bad idea to buy used pistons.. unless your in an extreme bind i wouldnt use them.. and even in an extreme bind i dont think i would run cast pistons if they were given to me.. greg_banshee Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 ya thats not a very good idea to run used pistons ... Quote
