hi im buy a set of used ss pistons and the ownwer says the mesumnts are .5mm

for the bore how much more is that then stock \

thanks all the info i can get is the better

and i wanna get a mild port done

what are othert things im gona need to do

crank weld?

I wouldent buy used pistons when you can get a complete topend wiesco rebulid kit for like $150. Getting your crank welded would help if your running more compression than stock. It wont give you power, but it will prevent your crank from seperating.

same thing, you wouldn't set up a jug in a bore stand for .020, you just hone it all out.

It's a better Idea to do all your porting and then have the jugs honed to their finished size.

piston failure.. and this is what could happen if you had one.. blown cylinders/head, shot crank, broken cases, crank seals, ect..

 

its a bad idea to buy used pistons.. unless your in an extreme bind i wouldnt use them..

 

 

and even in an extreme bind i dont think i would run cast pistons if they were given to me..
