Capone Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 87, I'd almost bank you got a broken reed. Goodluck. Quote
Dead Op Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Well, i was riding out on the ice last weekend, and had a hell of a time starting her up. I had to pull start it every time, it fired right up and ran awesome. I could not get it to kick over though. Im sure plugs are in order but i figured if they were fouled, pull starting it would clear em up. Im pretty curious about this, any ideas?? 476303[/snapback] Thats what gave me the idea he somewhow had a pull starter Quote
05Special Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 i couldn;'t start my bike by kicking it, after the topend was rebuilt the 3rd kick if fired right up. won't kick start its probably compression issue Quote
MILO Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 don't overlook the simple things - like the carb bowls being switched, out of sync, missing crossover tube, or broken reeds -before diving into rebuilds and so on. Quote
87sheerips Posted March 2, 2006 Author Report Posted March 2, 2006 Wellll, a lot of good ideas here. Heres the updated scoop. I tore the topend down, the cyls/pistons look awesome, at 150 psi in each cylender. Im .100 over, so I was going to rebuild anyways to get ready for the dunes since ive been running these for 2 years. The comment about the reeds sparks my attention cause I believe they are original. Ill have to post pics, but they look to be ok. I was out on white lake too that weekend, and it was fucking freezing!!!! That also might be an issue. Anyone have any v-forces for sale??? Thanks for all the input!!! Quote
