Hilarious Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 You said your dealership put the pipes on and jetted it for you? You may need to go back and check that out. And make sure the choke crossover tube, between the carbs, is in place. Quote
Banshee_Guy Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Its most likely something as simple are your jetting! When it idles its your pilot jet and you air screw that are effecting the bike... If you put new plugs in it will it start back up? If so, its your jetting! Try turning your air screw out a little, it should be out at least 1.5 turns and maybe try a smaller pilot jet! You can also check your compression, if its low, or uneven from side to side, it could be time for rings or you a fresh bore if you scuffed it! If you put a few more details it will be easier to diagnose! Quote
blackandyellowshee Posted February 20, 2006 Author Report Posted February 20, 2006 I just got some new plugs for it, and it made no difference, but I did make a discovery! It only happens when the choke is not on, so as soon as i push in the choke it starts crapping out, no matter how good you rev it, so its not the idle. There are some smart people on here I know you can help Quote
blackandyellowshee Posted February 20, 2006 Author Report Posted February 20, 2006 Oh and I checked the cross over tube. I took it off and there was nothing blocking it, and it was put on right. Quote
BakoBanshee Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Pull off the fuel line from the right side carb and see if there is sufficient flow. If thats not it, try unplugging the little black box above your left pipe under the gas tank and see how it runs with it unplugged. Quote
jmurrayR6 Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Ok I talked to the macs. at work. forgot to check spark before I went to work, so they told me to replace the spark plugg.Ive got spark but still the left side is not fireing. Took the pipes off to make sure the pistens were going up and down they are. Took the gas line off to make sure i was getting gas I am. I think there may be a plugg in the carb somewhere. Im bring the carb intommorow and have it checked. Im almost 100% sure the problem is in the carb. Ill let you know tommorow. Quote

jmurrayR6 Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 got the carb checked it was fine. Im going to have to bring the bike in for troble shooting i will let you know Quote
blackandyellowshee Posted February 22, 2006 Author Report Posted February 22, 2006 I would suggest first make sure your needle and seat isn't stuck 476638[/snapback] I took off the airfilter and pushed the throttle and they both moved at the same time, that means they're ok right. Quote
blackandyellowshee Posted February 23, 2006 Author Report Posted February 23, 2006 When I take out my plug after it stops running, it is soaked. My dad said it looks and smells like oil, and not the mixing kind He thinks that maybe the oil ring could be shot? How can I test for this? It was broken in proporly, and I have been using castor since new. Quote
