greg_banshee Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 if the chain is good & so are the sprokets u can ground out ur swinger a but more to give you the extra adjustment u need. if u have a dremel or rotary tool then it'll be easy, even i just used a drill & then filed it out ... worked for me ! i'll post a pic if ya want try it and let me know man Quote
greg_banshee Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 its drilled out about 1/2" toward the front. it will give you that extra little adjustment u need between the 2 red marks is where its drilled out. Quote
MYquadsFaster Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 i got 2 master links on my chain and ive never had a problem.....02 cents Quote
greg_banshee Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 ya i had 2 master links before i did that but ... IMO i just feel a little more confident with one master link. Quote
andiefrogger Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 will i need longer adjuster bolts ?????????? Quote
BigRed350x Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Something isn't adjusted right, or your chain actually is worn. You should never have to drill anything out to make it work right. There is plenty of adjustment in the stock setup. Once you can't adjust it any more, its time for a new chain and sprockets. Don't drill anything out like that, just fix it right. Quote
banshee tuner Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 2 things, if your chain stretched out in 3 months it is a peice of junk and stay away from that brand, and the other you are probably running it to tight to stretch it that quick. I put a did gold x-ring chain on mine about 5 years ago and it is still not stretched bad. Quote
greg_banshee Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 (edited) yes but i found with my 16/42 i was running (currently running 16/40) it just needed that extra little bit of adjustment with a new chain & all new sprokets... or else i'd have to cut it long and only had about 5 threads of adjustment left. FIRST BANSHEE Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 your chain shouldn't have streched that quick, I would get a new chain and sprocket set. or if your in a money bind, get a 15 front, you'll like it better anyway. Quote
andiefrogger Posted February 12, 2006 Author Report Posted February 12, 2006 ya i got a did x ring today and spockets .. Quote
banshee tuner Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 You should have much better luck with that chain. Quote
