RIPPEN Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I was just watching the news and it showed a cop that was caught on tape shooting some dude. Iam usually the type to give the cops the bennefit of the doubt in most cases but this didn't look good. Its dark so Its kinda hard to see but you can here whats going on. The dude (seemsis doing what he is told and the sheriff fires off like 3 times. I realize cops have a difficult job and really under appreciated but this looks like it may be a case where the cop is way outta line. You guys seen this vid yet. In southern Cali RIPPEN Quote

brilei5 Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I am with you , usually I would give the cop the benefit of the doubt. BUT By what they are showing on TV the cop is a complete moron. Maybe we will find out there is more to the story. If not Quote

Cotton eyed Joe Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Being a cop would be a hard job. Think about all the assholes that guy had dealt with just that day. Now what if that was your full time job, dealing with 80% assholes that didn't like you because of your occupation, 15% women that don't know how to drive and start crying the second they get pulled over and the other 5% dealing with piss drunk vagrants. I've had a few run-ins with the locals over the years, most were okay, one was a real cockmaster, and one was a pretty decent guy to bs with. Yeah. BS. The guy pulls me over at 2am because I was the only car on the road at the time, and we end up talking about my car for 20 minutes. About 10 years ago I used to lift at a small gym owned by a friend of the family, and there was a lot of cops that lifted there. I would say most of them were different people when not on duty. I'd talk all night to a group of them while I worked out, then I'd see them the next day at a gas station while they were on duty, and they wouldn't say shit to me. Wouldn't even give me a nod or anything. One of them ended up shaking down me and a bunch of my friends in front of a restaurant one morning while we were waiting for it to open. I was at the gym with the fucker not a day earlier. But I realized it was his job. It was early, and there were 10 kids hanging around a parking lot. Big deal. None of us had anything and he left. And as with ANY group, there will always be bad apples making the whole group look like shit. Quote
RIPPEN Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Posted February 2, 2006 Yeah I understand what your saying. Whats bad in this case though is (it appears) that the guy was doing what he was told and the cop THEN fired. If the guy was not doing what he was told than it would be different. From what I could see and hear in the video it looked like the cop was deff. in the wrong. RIPPEN Quote
dune_girl Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 one of our deputies actually just told me about this before i logged on....i havent seen the video yet but he even admitted that he thought the officer was in the wrong... Quote
tithead Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 you dont get a happy medium cop over here. there is the good and the bad that is it. if they think you have done something wrong, they are all over you. but if your in the clear they will treat you fine... if something has happened over night and they pull you in after drinking and your not in the wrong they offer you coffee or a bed in a cell to sleep it off. i have only met one cop in my time of being alive. but in febuary, i have a cop moving in right next door to me. i dont understand why though. i live in the middle of know where. it will be interesting to find out what he is like and i hope he doesnt mind the noice of my yfz450 going past his window most days Quote
