FasterThanU90 Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 (edited) the peice that comes up for the radiator and bars for sure MAJOR weak point and i would put a bar across the frame under the back of the seat ive had bends there Edited January 10, 2006 by FasterThanU90 Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Who sells the gussett kit that you can weld in? I am going to strip down to frame for powdercoat here in a couple months. I wouldn't mind making that little frame as strong as I can while it is being torn down. - Jared Quote
Wallrat Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Don't forget that f'n steering stop! Quote

I would rather buy something that is manufactured by a big-name company. Thanks though. Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 The green places i would support i couldnt point out all of them but its not that hard to tell what were u plannin on using this frame for ? Quote
trinityshee Posted January 11, 2006 Author Report Posted January 11, 2006 i just like to jump and i have seen subframes twisted and front ends bowed out so if i could make it a little strong that would be better while i got it appart Quote
gipperz Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 I use my plasma cutter for everything, making gussets should'nt be a problem at all. Try to tig weld everything, it just isolates the heat better or a mig would work to, either way just make sure the metals clean. Good Luck Quote
GleasmJA Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Anyone with some better pictures.... I'm in the same process with my shee. I was doing the steering stem. But haven't heard of the other areas. Maybe pics of what you have done or just better ones of the areas that need it. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Anyone with some better pictures.... I'm in the same process with my shee. I was doing the steering stem. But haven't heard of the other areas. Maybe pics of what you have done or just better ones of the areas that need it. Same here, I know the steering hoop, and rear shock mounts are weak point, but I wasn't sure of any others, any pics of fully gusseted frames would help, I only wanna have to do this once. Thanks! :beeer: Quote
LiftdT4R Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I know this thread's a year old, but I was never able to find a gusset kit, they make the for the 450s, but not banshees, and I am at a loss for what areas to gusset, and what to use to strenghen them. Quote
kaotik1 Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Okay I took a few pictures, and hope this helps. Mind you this is from what I can see, being there is not a kit on the market that I have found. That 400ex I am building needed a gusset kit, and I got it from Bare Performance this is what they look like Seond thing I did was note where they all went of the ex frame Quote
