Ls7colorado Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Hell o everyone...... I am fixing to be buying a 2001 banshee with fairly low hours on it, I already drove it and it runs great and idles good. What else should I look at? All the balljoints and bearing seemed ok. Is there anything particular with the banshee that could be a problem unnoticed? I will probly just start with some small mods, reeds, what ever pipes are best for drags, regearing, and some small things... thanks guys, hope to be part of the banshee fourms soon Quote
sheefreak Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) You are already a part of the forum. Welcome to the HQ. I can't think of any particular problem areas on the Banshee, but there are a few things you will want to do immediately. First off, get a pro-flow adapter and filter setup. This is a weak ploint on the Banshee, unless you are going to eliminate the airbox and run pods. And it isn't necessary, but you may want to get a TORS eliminator kit as it may save you a lot of headache in the future. Other than that, build it how you want it. If you want to go more toward drag, CPI or Shearer pipes are great, if you want to go w/an all around pipe, can't beat the Toomey T-5's. Let us know if you have any other questions. There is a very nice used quad buyers guide, I believe it was done by Meat, but I can't find it, maybe someone else can post a link for you. Edited January 6, 2006 by sheefreak Quote

watkins Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 I'd check over the frame to see if its been rolled or not. Look at the bike from behind and make sure that the pipes are level and that one isnt higher than the other. Also check the front plastics and make sure they are fitting right. Quote

peterlocal22 Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 welcome to the hq, I like to look over the frame with a close eye, esp. under the bike, look for scrapes, bends, or cracks and make sure theres no real rust. Quote
Spitfire Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Welcome to the HQ! Like everyone already said, if it runs good, and looks good, just make sure the frame is straight, and all the bearings (swingarm, axle, a-arms) are tight. Good luck! Also, please tell us more about your screen name, do you really have an LS7 in a Colorado? Quote
peterlocal22 Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 if you dont mind me asking about how much are you paying, what mods does it have if any? Quote
Ls7colorado Posted January 9, 2006 Author Report Posted January 9, 2006 Thanks alot guys. The guy is asking $3,000 for it but Im trading him a boat that I paid $1000 for and $1500 so basicaly im paying $2500 for it, he is a bigger guy and bought it new but I guess he is just to big to really have fun riding it, so it has been sitting for a while, it did crank up good though. As for my screen name, I do have a colorado but no LS7 yet......... I will be spraying the inline 5 pretty soon though.
