northshore Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 i have changedt he springs and seals on my fmf fatty's a couple of times, i just buy there little kit for 10 bucks, but the right side keeps getting lose, after a couple of rides, the springs have no more tension. does anyone know what to do besides changing the springs every couple of weeks? Your header shouldn't be able to move very much at all to stretch the springs out.. Quote
sandman Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 The hooks welded onto the fatties I had were welded on to close to the cylinder end of the pipe. So there was no way to get the tension needed to hold it up on the cyl. Based on my past experience with FMF products quality is nowhere to be found. Quote
scuba147 Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 when i bought my bike my fattys had shorter springs from a parts store than the long skinny fmf ones. i tried the fmf springs and seals would always leak. I put the shorter ones on and keep fmf ones as extras in tool box. Quote
