watkins Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 (edited) Welll... good news is the motor isnt blowing up anymore.. the bike is running good... bad news it that the shee decided to practice gymnastics today and thought it would be fun to do about 5 cartwheels. DIdnt really mess me up too bad.. i got thrown outa the way.... however the subframe is alll jacked up, I'd rather not mess with it myself unless its pretty simple how much would you think a shop would charge to straighten out the frame? I know i can get a good frame off ebay for less than $300... also.. the front plastics are not fitting really good... possibly frame damage there as well???? A-Arms look good, no cracks or bends. Thought the front right shock was toast.. but must have just been fade because after a while it built up resistance again..... anything else I should check? The bike seems to ride straight still.. I fired it right back up and rode it back to camp. I will get some pics tomorrow.. tonight i think in gonna take a hot bath. Edited December 18, 2005 by watkins Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 i have a bent frame on 1 of our bikes i think im just gonna buy 1 off ebay an have it powdercoated because i wanted it painted anyways so that gives me 2 reasons 2 tear it down so it wont suk 2 bad just get a new 1 becuase even after they get bent back there just never the same Quote
Wallrat Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 Pretty much the trick to straightening a subframe is to take a big long piece of steel pipe and apply a little leverage while a buddy holds the frame. Quote
watkins Posted December 18, 2005 Author Report Posted December 18, 2005 I will give it a shot wallrat, thanks for the tip. Just hope hope hope hope to get it all fixed by New Years. Quote
watkins Posted December 19, 2005 Author Report Posted December 19, 2005 So What do you all think? Can i get by with this frame after I tweak it back into place? I really dont have the time right now to get a new frame and get it up and running by new years. Quote
99Banshee Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Damn son.. Get out the BFP and some friends... Quote

watkins Posted December 26, 2005 Author Report Posted December 26, 2005 (edited) Well.. trying to bend the subframe back into place and its not going as planned. I took the rear grab bar off and slipped the handle of a floorjack over the end where the bar bolts on... all its doing is bending the part where the grab bar bolts on... any ideas? MonoxideChild420 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 try and cartweel it again on the other side, looks like ebay for you.... Quote
smkmupbanshee Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 IF U WANT TO POST SOME MORE PICS OF THE REAR SIDE I CAN PROBABLY HELP YOU OUT. DO NOT USE HEAT! I'VE STRAIGHTENED ONE ALOT WORSE THAN THAT. Quote
watkins Posted December 27, 2005 Author Report Posted December 27, 2005 (edited) I got it! I was able to wedge an scissor jack in between the swingarm and the subframe at an angle... jacked it up and its 99.9% better. Took literally 2min to do... I spent 3 hrs earlier in the day beating it to death with a BFH which did nothing. Edited December 27, 2005 by watkins Quote
