What are you shooting for and what do you plan on doing with it? Where do you want your gains? You could get anywhere from mid 80's to low 100's. Do you want a narrow powerband or a wider one?. Really depends on how you ride and the terrain. To optimize for the best numbers, go out of frame drags, 39mm carbs, full drag port on gas should get you around 100-105 if numbers is what your after. :shrugani:

well brad i love your numbers, but i need to be realistic, i live in maine with no dunes or anything like that, so i mostly ride sand pits, fast trail, and fire roads, so i guess i would be looking for good all around numbers, what kind of port would you recomend, i have a set of 34mm carbs not fitted yet bet anyway all input helps thanks

I'd go with the 4mil 68mm bore cub with your carbs and such and you will have better power all around. I would just bolt them on out of the box. They don't need any porting other than just a clean up port. I'd run something like fatties or t 5's with them also, maybe some cpi's. That should put you into the 80's with a nice powerband.

It could just be me, maybe I'm a pussy but I don't see3 cubs as a fast trail / fire road kinda set up :shrugani:

then again, he's got a pretty good set up right now, and apearently he doesn't think it's enough, so he must just be a stud

IMO cubs will run hard in the trails you run... (they sound like pretty open ,run it balls to the wall ridding). The toomeys your runnin right now will perform great with the cubs.

your looking at 80 hp with small carbs...if your runnin 33mm or bigger you might be in the 85hp range.

Cubs are awsome!!! My friends have em and they rock!!

 no im no stud i just like fast toys. yes cubs may be a bit much for some of the places i ride, but i would really like to 80-90 hp for the ice because honestly i do most of my riding in the winter. i wasnt trying to come off as an idiot who wants all kinds of power i cant use.. just trying to figure out a good set up for the cubs when or if i get them.. I am happy with the set up i have right now but id just like a little more.. maybe i'll just go with a good port job on my stock cyliders.. just checking things thats all

if a budget minded usuable high ponied setup is what you want, then somethign you may want to inquire about ,member wesw has a set of 4mill ported passion 12 port cylinders for sale that made 80+ hp on the dyno.

I agree with loco to an extent. How big are you and what kind of physical power do you have?

If some trails are technical you can still ride hard on the cubs, YOU MUST know how to use the clutch, YOU MUST know how to gear properly, YOU MUST know how tire size effects gearing, and YOU MUST not go much longer than stock on your swingarm preferrably less -1, -2".

Im not fuckin around. If I can hang with yfz450s and vforces which are auto all around and 700cc I'm doing something right and that something is GEARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Know your gearing read up on it. Spend time learning what sprockets will allow you to stay in 2nd and third gear while in the tight trails. Me? 15t front, 41 rear and 18" tires.

gonna go on the ice? 16t front 41 rear 20" tires.

or if I"m lazy the 15t front will stay on.

Keep a 14t, 15t and 16t handy. and if you have the cash an 18" set a 20"set and a 22" set.

THeres so many areas you can ride and put even "seasoned" guys in awe with your ability on a shee. Focus Focus and Focus.

yeah i really need new chain and sprockets anyway i bought it with 13/44 and went to 14/44 but that was before my +4stroker,timing v-forces. i am running 22" maxis surtraks...... i can muscle it around pretty well, i used to have a grizz 660 which i always rode like a sport quad , thats why i got my shee
