I'm using 280's now with the tr6's and I'm wondering where i should start as a main jet size and needle position for dialing my bike in once its ported, any help to carb setup would be great.

Thanks

well first of all, if your getting it ported you might want to think about getting some different pipes. t6's don't do to well with ported engines!!

Yea, call toomey and ask them about trading those for t5's (might not even cost anything). What kind of porting did you get and what have you done to your airbox? Whats the elevation and air temp?

Ask the builder...he should have a good idea where to start...D

Jeff at F.A.S.T. is porting my motor and I am going to run it with T6's...I will tell you how it turns out...I am also running a NOSS head with 19's..., but I am at 4800'....D

I've heard that rumor about the T6's and porting when they first came out, but I don't know anyone who has ever displayed any fact sheet or dyno runs to prove it.....

Running with snorkel off/ air box vents and pro design filter. Sea level and it gets around 25- 30 degrees celcius in the summer when riding.. I'll try the toomeys if they dont seem that good i'm going to try to get a set of cpi's..

I'd start w/ 350 mains, 4th clip on the needle, stock pilots and go from there...

with eric gorrs port work the t-6 pipes respond very well, the power is just as he told it would be ,come on sooner pull harder throughout and rev higher. the low end is almost as good as my 250r, and 6th gear pulls real hard now.I'm not going to spend another $500 to pick up a couple hp.
