TrickShee259 Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Here's my situation I have a '96 bored to 382, boyesen reeds and spacers, wiseco pistons, cool head with 22s, Dyna ignition, full Paul Turner Exhaust and a Trinity 2-1 carb kit with the 35mm Keihin. My bike is set up for motocross which is why i have the 2-1 kit for the good bottom end however I want more power for the dunes. Dual carbs are a pain to deal with for me so i don't want to race on em since i travel and have to rejet a lot. My question is would it be worth it to swap back to stock carbs for the dune trips? Trinity claims a 25% increase in bottom end and a 15% increase in top end with their kit however i don't believe that it can breath like it should with that single 35. Also what size are the stockers, i've been told 26mm and 28mm? Would it be a big power gain or a big pain? Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 IMO, the stock carbs don't come close to the 2 into 1's. Believe it or not, going back down to dual 24mm stock carbs will actually give you less flow than a single 35mm. I would think it'd be a huge pain in the ass to switch out carbs everytime you want to go to the dunes. If you like the ease of jetting a single carb, I would stay with it. And unless you have a port job, you're probably not even using that 35mm to it's full potential. I would personally look into a port job, then POSSIBLY think about getting a bigger single carb..maybe a 40mm Lectron. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 stock carbs won't help you anywhere over the 2-1 with your setup,I have the 2-1 and I am very happy at the dunes. stock carbs are going to be a pain in the ass. Quote
kenr74 Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 I agree. I run the 35pwk and it was an improvement of stock carbs on top and bottom. I ride almost all dunes so if I ever went back to duals it would probably be 33 or 35's. Quote
TrickShee259 Posted December 12, 2005 Author Report Posted December 12, 2005 Sweet. thanks for all your replies. So the stock carbs are 24s? Quote

Strm Trpr Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 I too run the Paul Turner Mid Range pipes and the Trinity 1 into 2 carb set-up. Iif I were to do it again, I'd go for some top end pipes like T5's or so, then some porting with a 40mm carb. That should rock it up nicely for both the dunes and racing. Quote
1000dollabill Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 i run the 35pwk and pro circuits. i like the combo a lot good bottom end, light switch power band, revs out pretty high. with the lake effect when we hit the dunes in the morning it can be 20 degrees warmer a couple hours later. jetting's a piece of cake.
