northshore Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 "drill the carbs"? Actually into the carbs? Thanks, Alan 443606[/snapback] yea, i just took it to the local machine shop and had them do it, you drill a hole in the side of the carb, and then tap it and install the idle screws. I didnt want to try myself and mess the carbs up. Quote
wooten Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 so if i unplug it i have to rejet or just unplug it and ride ????? Quote
ssanddemon Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Sounds like a big deal, but it's really easy, a good afternoon job. The carbs have a place cast into them for idle speed screw, but it is blocked out in the TORS carbs. You just have to drill thru the casting, grind the outer angled part of the casting boss flush, and tap the hole. All the stuff needed is in the kit, and it's not hard. Quote
courville69 Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 (edited) Be careful because i just snapped the tap in my carb.I did the right side no problem and started on the choke side carb and the tap snapped on me half way through so now i need a carb lol.It wasn't to bad except for this one problem.Happened today by the way.My friend might have an extra so hopefully its not down for to long.
