northshore Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 I have fmf fatties on my 03 banshee, and i keep replacing the orings and springs, but oil still keeps leaking out, is this from too much pre mix, or do the seals just go out. any sugestions? thanks in advance Quote
itsaripper Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Most of the time it is to much premix. Try going to a 40to1 mix on the oil you use now. Or try going to a good synthetic like Amsoil dominator and mix it at 50to1. Your jetting could also be rich. What does the plugs look like? Black and wet or light brown and dry. Quote
northshore Posted November 27, 2005 Author Report Posted November 27, 2005 the plugs are light brown Quote
trex banshee Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 i have had the same problems i just used some clear high temp silicone. Quote
Banchetta Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 You should be able to run whatever you want for premix, the pipes shouldn't have any blowby. This will cause an inconsistent powerband or curve and can throw your jetting all over the place. Make sure your using high temp o-rings. I've never had a pipe leak, if it did, the new o-rings always fixed the problem. ARe you using factory o-rings? Quote
northshore Posted December 1, 2005 Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 i get the spring and seal kit from fmf everytime. anyone know how many rides it takes before you replace them? Quote
Banchetta Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 3-4 years is what I get......I order them from the local stealershop....Its one of those parts that you don't see much for aftermarket. Quote
