Alright the only banshee around that is for sale is a drag banshee. 1997 YAMAHA BANSHEE. Brand new pistons and crank, bored .060 over, plus five swingwarm and much more.

Im thinking about buying it, removing the extened swimng arm and putting a MX suspension on it. Im just worried that the engine will not hold up. Im not to knowledgable about this kind of stuff but it takes 110 octane. I really want a stock Banshee....message me and Ill send a pic.

I think i'd pass on that one, depending on how much they're asking. It looks to me like he's just got 1"x1" square tubing for a rear shock????? I know he's probably dragging, but I'd still be worried about that rear end. He could have left the shock on and lenghthened the wish bone, bringing the entire shock lower, and still have a little suspension. Everything he's done to it is just no gonna work on an MX bike (pipes, probably motor, tires, and suspension).

If you do get it, don't put the stock swinger back on....just buy a -1 or -2 swinger. You can even try to find a cut and re-welded stock swinger. The stocker just isn't going to hook on an MX track.

Just so you know, it's gonna be tough as shit to MX and Banshee bone stock. Are you trying to say you want to find a stock one to mod out for MX? Because in that case...if you're really serious about MX, you're gonna have an empty wallet when its all said and done.

Keep looking. A drag motor won't be very friendly on an MX track.

Plus you will be paying extra for drag parts that you will just be throwing away. A relatively stock banshee should be easy to find.

I may get blasted for saying this, but if you want to compete seriously in MX you should get one of the new 450s. They will spank a well prepped Banshee on an MX track. But if you love the Banshees then go for it, just know you will be at a disadvantage. Banshees are the most thrilling quads to ride, but just not the best for MX and CC racing.

I agree. I MX on a pretty much stock banshee, it is not to bad, but not as fast as the front runners!! I keep on getting my ass handed to me by the 450's. But that said some tracks can some times give you an advantage, fast tracks without many sharp corners!
