diggs1870 Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I am new to the scene and this is my first ATV. I used to ride when I was younger so I have a little bit of experience with them, but as far as upgrades and the lingo on the subject I am clueless. I just bought a 96 Banshee and it needs a lot of work. The person that owned it before me put new Wiseco pistons/crankshaft basicall rebuilt the motor. The throttle seams a little choppy and the guy said to put bigger carbs and an exhaust system and it will run like a "raped ape". I want to upgrade the entire quad since I got it for so cheap and I plan to ride the crap out of it. There are a lot of trails with many jumps and the majority of this area is sandy dirt/grass. Can anyone suggest a good suspension to run on it? Thanks for your help. Quote
diggs1870 Posted November 2, 2005 Author Report Posted November 2, 2005 Does anyone make a complete kit for the suspension? I want good quality. Quote

PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Quicksand arms and swinger, Elka shocks. Quicksand is great quality and Elkas are great performers. http://www.quicksandmotorsports.com/ Quote
sandbomb Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Here are a couple pic's of there front end. They did alot of work keeping the angles of the arm's and tie rods correct to minimize the bumpsteer. Quote
diggs1870 Posted November 2, 2005 Author Report Posted November 2, 2005 Sorry to sound so ignorant, but I want to learn all that I can. What do they mean when they say +-1 or 2? I am completely lost. Quote
sandbomb Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 When they say +1 or+3 ,that mean's it's 1'' or 3'' wider per side. You also have a forward dimesion, so for example a +3 +1 is going to be 3'' wider and 1'' forward. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Lonestar makes good stuff, but you can't go wrong with Quicksand or Cusom Creations for A-arms and Swingarms. They are not mass produced crap... I a myself running a quicksand rear swingarm and the welds and build look pretty damn solid to me, I wet to the Cusom creations A-arms because I liked they way they were construted and there were not as many adjustments. but both companys seem to make some solid stuff. Also check out alba pro-comp a-arms, I think they are a bit overpriced but if you can get a deal on them by telling them your a members of American Sand Association I think. They also have a compleat front suspension kit that including the shocks and a-arms. Quote
