PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 Ok guys got a question, what are your thoughts on a KTM 125? Got a buddy who is getting one it's a '99 if that makes a bit of difference. He said it's really fast and he might need to gear it slower once he gets it. Anybody have experience with that model bike. Where's it rank compared to a quad? I just can't believe how fast he says it is, I've always heard dirtbike guys talk down on the 125's as lacking. Quote

Blue Duece Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 ive seen a butt load of KTM's out here in the desert, its a stout very well built bike, great suspension great motor, runs kinda like a good running Kawasaki, real husky on the low end, but the 125 wont beat a built shee in a 100 yard dash, if the shee hooks up, the 125's take alot longer to wind up, than a twin 350 does, a good CR-500 on the other hand is a hard bike to beat in a drag if the guy can ride.......... PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted October 20, 2005 Author Report Posted October 20, 2005 Well atleast I should have some competition for once, I hope he doesn't kill himself trying to keep up, this is pretty much his first bike he had a KDX250 for a month or two but it hardly ran and all he did was ride it in his yard. EastCoast Banshee Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 I have an older KTM 250 its just as fast a banshee but my friend has a newer 05 model 125SX and that thing is sick i dont think a banshee could keep up. Quote

My neighbour has a Banshee with Pipes/silencers, Reeds, and some other little doodads and the RM125 beat's it 9/10. When I had my stock Banshee I could hardly keep him in my sight on the straights, and in the tighter stuff, or on the track he was gone. Quote
