I have a friend that said he rode a banshee with a single carb, and a couple other mods too I guess. He said the thing was geared up and could do wheelies on pavement at 80 mph!

My stock 2002 banshee only does wheelies in 1st - 3rd gear on pavement, so I guess it only does wheelies at about 30 or 40 mph or so.

Also note that me and my friend don't pull back or do any of that stupid crap when we wheelie; if you have a good machine you shouldn't have to do stupid crap like that :)

Anyways, I am getting pro circuit pipes & silencers (the silencer that gives it more top end, not the shorty ones), and I was wondering if you guys think it will make it wheelie better at higher speeds and in higher gears.

Also, what mods are the best for high speed wheelies? Do single carbs make it wheelie much better becuase they boost the low end?

Thanks!

Alot of people talk alot of shit, but c'mon. Wheelies on a banshee at 80mph?? Banshees are fast but realistically not all banshees will even go 80mph without some changes in sprockets and tire diameters, and those changes would not give you enough torque to pull wheelies at 80. Where exactly do you ride these bikes at 80mph on pavement pulling wheelies?

Now alot of people on this site have some really built up bikes, so chime in you guys...... How many of you have pulled a wheelie at 80?

P.S. I dont mean to bash on newcomers but think about things before you post topics like this.

With my mods I can ride 5th gear wheelies on flat smooth sand, like on the beach with a 13 tooth front, so about 55 mph or so.

Well I admit I was pretty skeptical, and no, it really DOESN'T seem very realistic obviously, but the guy that told me this isn't really one to BS. He said it could wheelie in 6th gear, so I'm going to assume since it was geared up, that he was doing ATLEAAST like 60 or so.

As for where we do wheelies on pavement. Well, we live in Vermont, and there is alot of straight shot low traffic tar roads around here :) Yea sometimes people call the cops, but owell :)

I can't wait to get a KX 500 dirtbike. I'm pretty sure those will wheelie at 80MPH STOCK. Hell, they do 102 MPH stock. I know people that have had them clocked :)

Just my KX 250 can pull wheelies in 5th gear, and at like 50-60 MPH. Everyone knows dirtbikes are way faster than quads though. More fun IMO too :) Sorry had to say that lol!

I do like my banshee though, but I'll always like dirtbikes the best since they have more power and excellerate quicker. Quads usually have more top speed, but good luck catching back up after eating the bikes dust :) Or of course if you are racing a 500cc motocross bike then its hopeless; they do 100 mph stock :)

I hope the 80mph wheelie dude has shaved fenders cause once you get it up at 80 the the fenders are taking you right over. I'm glad you don't do any of that pussy pulling on the bars to get your 40-50mph wheelie going too, what mods you got done to yours cause I need them on mine :yank:

I call bullshit, and I ride wheelies all day :D:D

There is no way he is pulling a 80mph wheelie on a banshee, dont think I know anyone with balls that big either :confused:

Damn, i can't ride a 2nd gear wheelie, let alone a 6th gear one. I have minimus testiculus I guess. I've always sucked at wheelies, whether bikes, motor cycles, or quads.

if yo uever get the rare chance t o see it... it really is possible t o ride in top gear by someone who is damn good , but not 80mph on a she( that ive ever seen) , your not power wheelying though. you get it up in 3rd then find the balance point near the grab bar and shift through the gears and accelerate till the power drops off due to tall gearing change ,ive clocked my friend who is awesome on wheelying a she at nearly 60mph in my truck.

Calm down already you flamers :P

I didn't say I BELEIVED the guy that said he wheelied at 80 mph, but I'm sure he was going pretty fast when he did it.

But to whoever says a KX 500 wont do 100 mph stock, I'm pretty sure you are wrong, as I have seen many people say that have clocked these bikes at 102 mph, along with the CR 500.

And who WOULDN'T wanna ride a wheelie at 80 MPH? Hell I'd do it if I friggin had a machine that could. Once I get a KX 500 I will have to try it :)

Course I probably wont be alive after a couple weeks of riding :)

Actually my banshee can only do wheelies at like 30 or 40 MPH, and yes, without friggin pulling back or anything stupid like that. Hell, I don't even get it bouncing or anything, I just gun it. This is on pavement though, and its in 3rd gear. Also, I only weigh 160 lbs.

As for mods, my banshee is STOCK. The only thing that ISN't stock is the ITP holeshot tires. The thing is pretty much brand new though, and still has TONS of compression.
