Bansh88 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I just spent $100 powdercoating some wheels. In retrospect, I should've just rattle canned the f**kers. 2 seconds in the sand and they're all dusty anyhow. Barely look black. Quote
stclark816 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Powder coating them is ur best bet. Quote
97banshee350 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 i painted the rims on my craptor with just a can of flat black sprey paint, did 2 coats of flat black and 2 coats of gloss and they held up ok for a while but i ride woods a lot with the craptor so they finaly started chipping. but if i had the money i would have gotten them powdercoated. midnite Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 My 87 has powder painted itp steel wheels {off set}. Had it done for free where I worked. If you have aluminum wheels, I would go powder paint, simply because wet paint doesn't stick to aluminum very well. If you have steel wheels, have them media blasted, then use black primer, then gloss black paint. Good thing about using a rattle can is if you get scratches, you can touch up the scratched area. Bansh88 is right, 2 mins of riding in sand, and its hard to tell what color they are. Quote
