speny46 Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 (edited) Went to go out riding and after I started it and let it warm up, I put it in gear and hit the throttle and it just bogs. Come to find out that the right side is not firing. I put new plugs and check for spark and it was there. Started it again and pulled the spark plug cap off and no change with it connected or disconnected. Still just bogs with no power but continues to run on one cylinder. Also pulled the right side carb and checked for any clogging and there was none to be seen. Also the carb was full of gas . Also on the right side exhaust it would smoke a little and when I pinned the throttle it would make a "pfftttt" sound kinda like an small backfire ive also done a compression test which was fine, could this be damaged reed valves ? Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ive also just removed the tors system (toomey kit) which i followed all of the instructions correctly Also its useing lots of fuel as far as the park switch is concered ive removed the switch and crimped the wires together any advice apprieciated thanks in advance Edited October 11, 2005 by speny46 Quote
THEREALBUDLIGHTBANSHEE Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 YOUR REEDS WOULD BE THE FIRST THING I WOULD CHECK. Quote
sheecandy Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 you sure your parking brake aint set it will make that pffttt sound if ti is Quote
reded Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 Check all the TORS connectors...sometimes the connector for P Brake can come out of the housing a little and cause it to run on one cyl. Quote
Shee-Male Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 make sure the damb choke tube is attached between the carbs! Quote
DIRTMAN350 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I had the same thing happen to me and i finally found the boot where the boost bottle goes torn and leaning out the right cylinder. replaced the boot and it runs like a champ now. Mine made the same sound when hitting the throttle. check and make sure that your carb boots are in good shape. Quote

sitttinpretti03 Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 I had the same thing happen to me. It turned out to be the tube between the two carbs was not connected. It balances the pressure between the carb. Hope that helped. Quote
