sycoracer911 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 alright i have herd of buying an override tranny for your shee's.... what does this exactly do? now if im riding everything like track trail street, drags and just all out everything can i do this mod. how much faster am i looking to get.... just some info on them would be apreciated... also where can i get them? can you put rz gears in a shee? would it make any difference? The override tranny is for helping your shifts, so you can keep the gas pinned and just shift, without using the clutch. I'm getting one for mine as soon as I can afford it, but I only drag race my bike, it's not trail friendly anymore. Quote

bkabina Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 There is alot of cutting to the drum so the forks just slide like butter.Every other dog is cut from the gears and the rest are angle cut.The only time you use the clutch is when you take off at the line or let off unless you are in top gear.Most over rides are a 1-5.It depends on the riders ability to shift without an over ride on how much time is shaved off.You can see anywhere fom 1 to 4 tenths of a gain. The only place to get an over ride is Rudy Kurtz in my opinion.He is the one that made the first over ride close to 25 years ago.Yeah you can put an RZ tranny in a banshee.The gearing in first is lower than a banshee and 2-5 is a higher ratio with 6 pretty close to stock.They are fun in a banshee But for drag racing they just don't hold up to the power as well as a stock tranny.With high power machines I know of RZ trannys that started to crack mostly second and third gear with less than 40 passes. ( not 1 dent in my pipes ) as to the override tranny its for strictly drag because you have to completly slow down to 2mph to downshift ( from what i heard ) , and itll only cut some time off your drag run . wouldnt run it unless u are a stricccccct drag bike and never want to see the trails again .
