EXACTLY!!! And another difference is, the people in Texas have common sense, people that stayed in N.O. are MORONS. This second hurricane was a normal hurricane, not a racist one made up by "the administration".

And yes Travis, I can't stand seeing my neighbors every morning. Rolling out of bed, kind of taking it easy. I get home at lunch, one of them is out there shooting hoops, the other is across the street in a lawnchair under a tree talking to the guy shooting hoops.

The woman next door to them is out on her porch, smoking more cigarettes while her bastard kids play in my drive way, and out in the street.

 

For the most part everyone on my block isn't worthless, but these 3-4 individuals that are, really piss me off.

 

And its not like there isn't any work they can go do.

I have some legal Mexican immigrant neighbors that own a sheet rocking business. The guys leave at 6:30am and don't get back home until 7pm. Some of the hardest working people I've ever met. They know what its going to take to survive here, and I'm sure they appreciate what they have.

 

Everyone at their house drives a brand new truck, they have a trailer full of jet skis, recently replaced the entire exterior of their house, roof, and garage, and I'm sure they've earned every f**kin dollar to pay for it seeing that they work at least 12 hours per day 6 days a week. They could use a few more hands I'm sure, but these lazy asshole neighbors of mine wouldn't work for starting wages for a sheet rocker.

 

I've actually heard unemployed people tell me that they didn't want to work a minimum wage job because it doesn't pay enough.

I'm like...what the fyck are you living on now?

 

I also really liked what I heard on the news about the cops in Texas.

They said "we have plenty of room in our jails. We don't care what you are looting, if you are caught you are going to jail." Then this cop said "If the jails get full, I don't care if I have to handcuff you to my toilet at home, you will be placed under arrest"

They they showed the cops with the rifles guarding the gas stations.

Not running away like the cops in NO did.

I've eaten at Mexican resaurants the last few nights and those places are great the waiters may not speak very good english but they'll repeat what they said until I understand them. They are always waiting on you if your glass gets almost empty they are re-filling it, if your plate is empty they remove it. I always judge the tip by the refill factor, when a waitress walks by my empty glass without filling it down goes the tip. Those immigrants work hard and treat you like a customer not like your a pain in the ass, alot of people could learn alot from watching them. That said I can't stand illegals but if you've got the legal paper work, your welcome in my book.

Place called Burrito Grande. Same as what you said, they don't speak perfect english, but they're polite, and I'd be safe to say more polite than any other place I've eaten.

 

Best fsking mexican food ever. And yes, we are seated as we walk in, the drinks are full, and I always leave a %30 tip or more.

 

The glass refilling factor is always a "0" at places like Applebees, Chillis...any big corporate restaurant. My wife will ask me if I'll leave the tip. And at those other places I'll put 67 cents in change under my plate.

 

This Mexian restaurant is open 7 days per week from breakfast until about 10pm. They now have 2 locations, and both are thriving. I could eat there every weekend.

Not to get too off track here, but my sister in laws family raises beef. We got an 1/8th of a cow last year, and we got most of the shit, but it was still pretty good.

This year we are going to try for a 1/4 to a 1/2 side. Nothing like eating a steak that will barely fit in the skillet, and hangs over all 3 sides of your plate.

I agree with a least some or most of everyones post. I have been pissed about all these issues long before the storms. I have relatives(which i don't really claim) that think EVERYONE owes them. There are so many people(black, white, purple) out in this world like this. They sit around pissing and moaning and they get payed for it. How is it these people get more money doing nothing than your average joe worker. Some say, "oh they don't get that much" "barely enough to live". . Yeah untill you add in the food stamps, medical care, education and Iam sure there are tons of other things besides cash that Iam forgetting. I just think its crap I work hard everyday, day in day out just to be left with stress at the end of the month. But if I wanted to sit and feel sorry for myself, I could be a lazy pile and in America today thats just fine(thanks Dems). Instead I choose to contribute and work hard because thats how I was raised and that to me is what makes an American an American. For those who are actually down on their luck then I think we do need to help out. But no one should be down on their luck for more than 10years 5years or hell in most cases even a year. There is just to many loop holes for these slugs to seep through. There were a bunch of evacuees that came to Denver also. I see adds on the TV where people are looking to hire THEM. All the while they are bitching cuz its cold... Sorry but its better than doggy paddling around in a pool of death for 6 months. To me all these people that take advantage of the system should be dropped on their heads and made to contribute to society. Otherwise what purpose do they serve???

im not racist at all and dont want to offend anyone but i cant stand they way the majority of black americans live, talk, and treat others all they do is go around fucking at the age of 12 and dont take care of there children, make fun of white people but if we make any kind of comment about them they get all offended. they have the highest damn crime ratings, with there gangs and guns they cant handle there problems like civilized human biengs they have to shoot each other, go to the local prizon and what will you find a bunch of damn black people blaming other people for there actions. and there mantality on life is just all srewed up, not saying that all black people are like this i know lots of black people who are great people but for the majority of them i say america is better with out those kind of actions. i am proud to live in utah cause theres not much of that here there is some but for the most part its all good here. and dont forget about the kick ass dunes here
