Has Anyone Ever Mounted Their Own ATV Tires On Wheels? I Was Wondering If IT Was Hard To Do, And What Steps Were Neccesary. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use murphy's oil soap to lube up the bead when trying to seat the tire to the rim. You will swear the tire is going to blow apart before it slips on to the bead. They say not to use more than 30 pounds of pressure or something like that. I think I got close to 90 before it would pop all the way on.

Just make sure you tell your loved ones how you feel before you have at it ;)

have u never changed a tire before? Do you already have the old tires off because if you dont' its hella hard to get them off we used a little home made device that our dad made back when he had a three wheeler that sits perfectly around the rim and u use a jack and put it under something really heavy say a tractor it breaks the bead off of the rim. if not then u can beat ur brains out forever :shootself: but to put the tire on your gonna need some pry bars

Just find you a local dealership that sells atv's and they can mount them for you. If not try Wal-Mart or a store like that. Doing atv tires yourself is a pain in the a**. It's much eaiser to have them done by a pro.

I personally have done about 5 SETS of 4 tires.

The stock tires are the hardest to break the bead off the rim. I suggest buying a set of motorcycle (dirtbike) tire irons for 10 bucks MAX. Get the tire halfway on the rim, then apply some sort of dish soap of slipperly liquid. Pry Away, if your using 2 or more tire irons it is a snap. The tire irons and soap are KEY. I tried it with screwdrivers once, and it took 3 hours for 1 tire, no joke. Now it takes 3 minutes for only 1 tire.

If you do have to pop a stock tire off the bread, i honestly dont know what to tell you. I used an arbor press and it was still very difficult :shrugani:

Good luck ;)
