What's the longest lasting battery I can buy for this truck because the current batteries that I run ( Duratrax Shark 1500 mAh 6-cell 7.2 volt NiCD) only last about 5 minutes each during full throttle play. Is there such a thing as a 15 minute battery? Wat's the difference between NiCD and NiMH? Thanks

You need to be looking at the mah you are running a 1500 which is about as cheap is it gets get a 3000 mah which is the same size but will hole twice as much juice they make them up to like 4000.

Get a lipo if you want really long runtimes. Or a 3300 size battery will give you around 25 minutes. Make sure to cycle the battery properly. I've got a stampede and an RC18T. The RC18 is a little freaking beast. Its got a modified motor and will spin all 4 wheels without hesitation. So yeah, go with a lipo if youve got the money, but a bigger size batter will do.

mainly the thing that is gonna kill you on run time is the mah of the battery and the resistance that you have throughout the car (wires, good solder connections etc.) so my advice is pick up a good electronic speed control and a ok 27turn (or stock car motor) and regear for that desired motor then go get yourself an ok charger that can charge nihm packs you can buy the packs or build your own if you have some good soldering skills and dont arc it while trying to build otherwise you can lose a cell, building a pack is sure to get the best possible life and power out of your car though becuase you can pick and choose the cells so they are matched and one cell doesnt outperform another and rememeber always fully discharge them with a discharger so to get max life out of the packs. i ran some fast electric outrigger hydros (rc) and when you have to make 5 laps on a pack at full speed you need the most out of a pack. if you ever get tired of cars or electric stuff get ahold of me man i have some sweet gas boats(weedeater style but on steroids... actually its a zenoah power which is a hobby brand performace engine) that can do in upwards of 50mph on water

you could run more batterys, i used to run a 7 cell, is your servos runn off the battery, you could run a different battery pack for your elctronics and one for the motor.
