bansheefreestyler Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 hey guys. just found a guy that can bore and hone my cylinders for me and he said it is going to cost $600 for all of it pistons and everything. my dad said that it would be cheaper to buy new jugs instead of getting these ones bored and honed. what should i do? go with the new ones or get mine bored. the one jug has a big score in it and the top of the exhasut port is chipped away. if i were to buy new ones should i get them off ebay or from my local yamaha dealer? thanks for the help guys BFS Quote
Big Blue Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 600 for bore an pistons is nuts, send passionre a pm on here and see what he can do for you even with shipping it will be way cheaper than 600. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Are you ported? For $600 that should include porting. Quote
racer Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 600 is about right if take it to the dealer and have them do ALL of the labor. but who does that? boring should be 50-60 per hole at a dealer and pistons can be had for 150 on ebay including gaskets. but if part of your port is chipped away you may need to cylinders anyway. how bad is the chipping and where is it exactly? bansheeryder_69 Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Are you ported? For $600 that should include porting. 402351[/snapback] For real, I payed $100 to bore and hone both of mine? then another $150 for the pistons/rings/etc. My uncle did all the labor for free. Sounds like your getting screwed. Quote
