vdubn Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 In this situation, the bike is a Raptor, but I figured that a lot of the Guru's here have run into the same issue one time or another on Shee's with extended swingarms. I don't know what brand of swingarm this is, I just know it has a Honda-style carrier. I just bought a used +2 Raptor swingarm, it uses a round honda-style carrier for chain adjustment. So, when people get the extended swing arms with the honda-style carriers, do they typically still use the std. axle for the bike, or does that require you to switch axles over to a Honda axle? If they typically require a change to a honda axle, which bike is it typically (250R)? I am trying to buy one of the Durablue 2+2 axles, and need to know how to tell which axle I need to buy (for a honda, or for the Raptor). Thanks for any help, Dean Quote
vdubn Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Posted August 4, 2005 One additional note.... the swingarm came with an adapter mount for the Raptor caliper, since the round housing didn't have the mouns. And, he didn't say anything about having to convert to honda rear brake rotors, etc. (it used stock hubs too). So, my guess is that the carrier was made to be used with the stock Raptor axle. Any opinions welsome... thanks. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 all stock components will bolt up Quote
vdubn Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Posted August 4, 2005 So, you think it is safe to assume that if I get a Durablue Raptor axle, it should fit the round carrier... in other words, any of the places manufactuing the extended swing arms make the carriers to work with the factory parts? Thanks! Quote
switchblade Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 yes, a raptor axle will fit unless it is some od ball carrier for a drag axle or an acutal honda carrier, and they are 40mm. Quote
vdubn Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Posted August 4, 2005 Cool, I initially thought so, but started wondering if it was something odd. Since he was running all stock sprockets, brake stuff, etc., I imagine it uses a stock Raptor axle. Thanks! Quote

vdubn Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Posted August 4, 2005 Yea, I figured that to be the case, but I didn't know for sure. It makes a lot more sense to do it that way. Thanks for all of the help guys! Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Lonestar axle. stay away from durajunk... Quote
vdubn Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Posted August 4, 2005 Sweet, I just ordered the Durablue 2+2 for the wifes Raptor. We ride 99% in the sand, what are the main problems with them? Quote

Cotton eyed Joe Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 not called bendyblue for nothing. 401139[/snapback] LOL I've heard them called "Dura-Bend" Reminds me of Tommy Boy: I can take a dump in a box and tell you its a guaranteed piece of shit..... or something to that effect. No personal experience, just ALOT of people have told me theirs. Quote
