biggun6ss Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Just wondering if thee tires are any good in the sand? Quote
Bansh88 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 never heard of them. Let's see a pic. Quote
race-a-holic Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 (edited) That depends. If the sand is damp and hooking really hard or your banshee isn't modified alot, then they should do fine.If the sand is dry and really powdery or you got a banshee putting out some serious horses, then paddles are your best bet. biggun6ss Posted August 2, 2005 Author Report Posted August 2, 2005 I ask because we like to ride to what we call the Big Tree. On the ride there you hit dirt (kinda loose) and sand (soft) with some long straights. We usually have to drag before we set up camp at the tree. I have paddles for the main drags at the other end of the river. Just wondering if they do any better than stock tires. It snows in the winter here, just once or twice a year. Quote
VinceDizzy Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 (edited) Oh yeah, almost Anything is better than stock tires on the sand. These would work good for the dirt/sand terrain. But regular haulers or molded paddles always do the best in soft sand. I heard of people using these for dirt drags? Edited August 2, 2005 by VinceDizzy Quote
racer Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 I heard of people using these for dirt drags? 400190[/snapback] those are used lot in dirt drags. but look like they would give decent hook in moderate sand also. Which dunes are you gonna ride? That can help a ton in determining tire choice. Quote
J-Madd Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 I just bought some a couple weeks ago for my YFZ. Made up a couple bike lengths in damp sand 300 ft drags. Tried paddle tires and lost a couple bike lenghts vs. stock tires. Definitely good tires if the sand is right. I was told to turn them around opposite of the rotation arrow for the sand. Every one at St. Joe park in MO runs them that way. Quote
Bansh88 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Looks similar to San Tires Unlimited "Mini Desert Traks". I know a couple guys that swear by them in Glamis. Quote
MonkeyBoy Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Mini desert tracs suck on a banshee. I have tried them, even the comp cut ones, and could never get them geared right. Stupid 22 inch tires. Quote
23champ Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Stupid 22inch tires? In the drag race world if you ain't runnin tall tires you prolly ain't winnin Quote
