Screamin_Demon Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 (edited) "(CNN) -- A 5.6 magnitude earthquake rumbled through southwest Montana late Monday, according to the National Earthquake Information Center Web site. The NEIC said the moderate quake struck at 10:08 p.m. (12:08 a.m. Tuesday ET) and was centered 13 miles north-northeast of Dillon, Montana, and 220 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho. A spokeswoman for the Beaverhead County Sheriff's Department said there were several reports of damage but no reports of injuries immediately after the temblor. Beaverhead County Commissioner Mike McGinley told CNN in a phone interview that so far, the damage found has been limited to pictures being shaken off walls and other minor incidents." CNN's report I couldn't believe what actually happened after I heard about it this morning. I had just sat up on the couch while watching tv, and felt like I was swaying back and forth. I looked at the coat closet door which was swinging back and forth, and then at my wife who was giving me the same look I was giving her... "Is everything moving or am I insane?" I actually thought our fat neighbor feel over on the floor or something. I guess that would have made an up-and-down shake instead of a side-to-side shake. We okies don't get scared by mother nature much... but the quake had us shocked with disbelief. Dillon is about 4-5 hours away from here, and we got a pretty good shake for about 10-15 seconds. Anyone else from around Dillon feel the quake? I like to find out how far away it was felt in each direction. Edited July 27, 2005 by Screamin_Demon Quote

I hope, for your sake, that you are educated enough to realize that I live in Montana, and that the info I posted from CNN.com is the actual report that followed the morning after the quake. Quote
