Just a couple weeks ago I wrote a post that said I had a problem. I thought it was my ignition coil, but I thought it ended up being the outerwear.

WELL...... banghead

The bike will fire right up when its cold, but when it gets warm and it idles for the shortest time it will kill and wont start back up for a while. When its running the bike misfires, from 1/2 throttle, all the way up. I checked my plugs, they werent fouled, i checked the reeds on the left cylinder, and they werent cracked or anything. The only thing i can figure it would be is my freakin ignition coil because i pulled one wire all the way out. I may tear into the other cylinder monday to check the reeds, but i dont know if its worth my time. Thanks

I had a very similar problem with mine. It would idle no matter what the engine temp was when warm it sounded like my left cylinder would cut under full throttle....Come to find out my compression was low and got lower when it got all warmed up and the top end was shot...check your compression......all the problems i was having was linked to the low compression

where would i be looking for air leaks at? Im thinking it is the ignition coil because i think i may have damaged it when i was last riding. The spark plug wire wanst getting a full connection, so im thinking that the coil wasnt allowed to release all the energy when the cable wasnt hooked up. if any of you have any other ideas let me know. Im getting an ohmeter and a compression tester. I will let you guys kow the #'s when i get done testing them.

Just fire it up & spray some carb cleaner around your intakes & see if shee revs, if so, shee's suck'n air. ;) It may very well be the coil, I had a buddy pull one out on accident one time & it wouldn't run for shit, idle or anything hardly until he got it replaced. See what ya find with the ohm meter & compression tester though...keep us posted.

i just got done testing my coil...the readings are from 003-004. so I imagine it is shot. Tell me if im right, and if i am is ricky stator a good coil?

I don't have my bible on me to see what it should test out to, nor have I tested a coil myself...so I'm of no help there. :shootself: Haven't heard any +'s or -'s on the RS coils, didn't know they even had them to be honest with ya...I'd suggest checking the classifieds & post a wanted add for for a good used one.
