what I thought was clean and dry, my cover leaks ATF along the bottom...enought to make a nice mess. I installed a brand new gasket and even got allen head cap screws for a snug fit....all for not.

ideas?

i use yamabond on the clutch cover, then install the gasket. that way if i have to take it off it stays on the cover. no leaks.

I"ll 3rd that opinion.

I always use a gasket sealer. I'm not sure if there is a bolt pattern to torque it down, but always be sure to get the screws finger tight first, then go around it torquing it in steps. I usually take 2-3 steps to do it. I dunno if it makes a difference or not, but its such a big cover I'm sure it flexes a little.

I still have the original gasket on mine, and it's a 1988! I used some Mr. Gasket to hold the gasket to the clutch cover 1st time I removed it, now it stays put and still doesn't leak. It's been off many times too.

Your banshee has power steering?!?

yes. If you do the conversion, make sure to use a stainless flex line for the pressure hose. I've had pressure issues with that on hard landings.
