Flamin' Fast Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 this winter i am planning on getting a dune/drag port from k&t performance(they are AWSOME!!) and i was thinking of getting rid of my t-5's and getting some out of frame drag pipes, i still want to ride the dunes. would i still have the power on the dunes or would i have to feather the clutch constantly just to stay in the powerband. Big Blue Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 ive seen people rinding the dunes with drag pipes, but why not just get a good inframe? Quote
hittintrees srh Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 ive seen people rinding the dunes with drag pipes, but why not just get a good inframe? 393948[/snapback] word maybe look at some in-frame cpi's or shearers- i havent seen too many out of frame duners- and yes you would have to be all over your clutch to keep you shee screamin. race-a-holic Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 The out of frames may look cool, but think of how much fun it is to beat the out of frame piped bikes with one with inframes.Seems to me the in-frames make it seem more like a sleeper. My shearer pipes are awesome! Quote
bigboybanshee Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 If you plan to do some real duning then definitely go with inframes. If all you were doing was dragging, then out of frames should be fine. I don't think the mounts on out of frame pipes are really strong enough to withstand hard duning for lengthy periods of time...I may be wrong, but that's just my .02 but think of how much fun it is to beat the out of frame piped bikes with one with inframes I hope to hold my own at LS this fall running my out of frames...I'll probably be slower off the start cause of my long swinger but I hope to show some folks my banshee's ass Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 i would seriously not go with out frames if you plan on duning. seems like just something else to get ripped off or stab you in the leg if something happens. id go with some in frame rockets, shearers or cpi...by the way, k and t does excellent work. they did a hell of a job on my cr500 banshee... Flamin' Fast Posted July 19, 2005 Author Report Posted July 19, 2005 i never thought about the mounts not being strong enough or what would happen if i crashed. thank you all for your input. how much should i plan on spending on some in frame drag pipes? Quote
23champ Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 My brother picked up some chrome shearer inframes from passion for under $500. If you run shearers you can't run an airbox. Quote
Flamin' Fast Posted July 20, 2005 Author Report Posted July 20, 2005 i am going to get some inframes now but i also have another question. here it is http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48117 Quote
