papa_smurf49319 Posted July 19, 2005 Author Report Posted July 19, 2005 well the yamaha shop was out of jets at the moment, and they said i deffinetly need to rejet, but they said i could bring my old ones in and they could drill them out to size? sound leget? Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted July 19, 2005 Author Report Posted July 19, 2005 they are a very precise thing to be just drilling on without some sort of lathe or cnc machine, or is this a common practice? Quote
Dark Ranger Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I suppose if they had the right equipment they could do it, but I have a hard time trusting shops to do anything right. That's why I do my own work (not counting machining). Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted July 20, 2005 Author Report Posted July 20, 2005 ok well i picked up some 210's today and i will give them a try tommrow and get back to u guys Quote
SANDSTAR Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 DON"T USE DRILLED JETS!!!!!!!!!! They might not get them exactly the same, and that is bad. Check for an air leak around the carb boots and reed cage. Check your reeds. make sure they are laying FLAT. If not, take the warped one off and flip it over. If you have problems in every throttle position, that would mean not only are the mains off, but so are the rest of the circuts. I would start by looking for an air leak. If you have a buddy with a Banshee that has similar mods, swap his carbs in and see if it runs better. If it does, copy his set-up and fine tune from there. If you are completely confused by the Banshee gnomes, take it to a reputable builder and pay him to get it spot-on. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted July 31, 2005 Author Report Posted July 31, 2005 well it wasnt even but 85 degrees tonight, it ran awesome for like 20 mins with the 210's in it and then started its normal back up again, oh and it spit coolant on the ground it idled high when i stopped, so i tapped on the bowls and when i tapped on the bowl on the kick side it idled back down, so i know one of my floats is stickin, but i just got pissed and put it away, im startin to think i better just pull the motor out and buy a gasket set, go through the whole motor, clean the air filter, check for problems and try again? any suggestions all help is welcome, i really dont wanna have to sell it and have to drop some cash in a new 450 i love banshees when there not actin up Quote
Dark Ranger Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Did you try to ride it after you rapped on the carb bowl? Maybe you have a float that's sticking closed when it warms up and it's causes that side to run super lean or miss. Have you tried cleaning the carbs? How about checking the float height? Quote
