Pull the case off and check your shift shaft and the shift drum. There is a pin on the shaft that pulls the drum up and pushs it down. Mine came out. There is an aftermarket shaft and drum, Maybe someone can point you in the right direction. I put mine back togeather and it works fine Quote
StealthShee Posted July 5, 2005 Author Report Posted July 5, 2005 THANKS I'LL TRY IT TONIGHT... GOTTA GET THAT BABY UP AND RUNNING AGAIN Quote

bansheefreestyler Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 you need to pull the cases apart to get at that? Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 you need to pull the cases apart to get at that? 389163[/snapback] Not to make adjustments to the pin. ... Just a case of draining the coolant and trans fluid, then removing the side case. But to change the shift drum, the cases need to be split. Rare. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 so my shifter has alot of play in it when i shift down. could this be from that pin? and it doesnt lock in unless i bring it up with my foot then it stays where its supposed to be Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 That could well be your problem. ... Once your Clymer arrives, the procedure for adjustment is easy to follow. Rare. Quote
DBLtapS Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 (edited) Replace the shift shaft,. You dont have to "split the cases." Only take off the clutch cover. Unless you replace/adjust and it is still f'd up. Then, you may have to split the cases, Rare is right. You REALLY NEED A CLYMERS!! Spend 27 bucks now and save a whole lot later. This whole project including the manual will cost you under 100.00 Get the MANUAL! Edited July 7, 2005 by DBLtapS Quote
