Toomey T-6 pipes Toomey 2:1 Spark Arrester 30mm D-Slide Carbs Stinger air cleanesr with outerwares Coolhead w/18 &20 domes (20 Installed) 4 hours on new top end. .30 over Billet Impeller 2 Sets of tires and rims (One set studded for ice.) Pro Taper Bars Custom LEATHER Seat Worx front shocks x-tra rear shock (x-tra was bought on e-bay, the guys said it had a worx rebuid kit... Stupid Me bought it hook line and sinker.)   5. Afternoon, I am working on a jetski 650SX. Since its a 2 stroke twin I thought I might find some luck here. The previous owner I bought it from says it ran good. Last time he took it out it just died. There wasnt a coil when I go it so I got one from ebay and still.... No spark.... I found the start/kill switch spliced under the hood with masking tape. I am assuming this is the root of the problem. Digging a bit deeper I found the four wires coming out of the stator melted with the bare wires exposed. I took the stator out and repair all the wires. Put it back in and still no luck. I just got the new/used stator from ebay this evening. Before I put it in I wanted to test the stator, rectifier, and starter relay. Anyone have one of these or the knowledge to give me a hand? I would appreciate it.
  6. I had the exact same thing happen to me. Your mods are the same too. I over-tourqed the head and and smooshed the o-ring on the coolhead. I havent rode mine much since the second rebuild but ti runs strong. I am taking her up north this weekend....
  7. backfiring sounds to me like it running lean. Give us more info on your mods and where you live
  8. I took the cylinders off to check. I had them both right. I did notive a little wear on the intake side of the cylinder. Is this normal? 22 cm domes 130 lbs at 1000 ft above seal level. Sound right? namura pistons
  9. I just finished putting my shee back togeather. It runs fine, I havent really gotten on it yet though. Question, I was just thumbing though the clymers and was reading abou thte rings. I just put them on. I didnt look at the different thinckness. Should I tear it back down and double check? What will happen if they are reversed? Thanks
  10. I had the same thing happen to me. I welding two new nuts on the frame. I had to use a few washers to get the spacing right but it hastn broke....
  11. They guy you got them from at a different elevation? Or maybe jetted for colder weather. Different mods? Read the guide, it took me a couple of tries before I got it right. Any other mods to your bike? Ported? I wouldnt mess with the needle until you get your main jet close. Then fine tune. Go buy a few sizes up down from what you have.
  12. Just got my new 300mm d slides installed but, my toomey 2:1 air filter dows not fit. I think I want to go with pod filters. Anyone have an opinion on the best and where to find them? Thanks
  13. First time putting coolhead on the shee..... I have two extra o-rings... I think. My head did not come with an installation guide. I put one in the goove in between dome and the head, top and bottom. The third is for the head and the cylinders.... Is that right? Or do I need to put one on the dome itself somewhere? I want to make sure... Thanks in Advance Someone have a link of a picture?
  14. Any pointers for the break in of a new top end? Someone told me to not use synthetic oil? How do you break in yours? Thanks
  15. t-6s took the head off and the left cylinder is f'ed. Looks like the ring caught one of the ports and tored it all up. Just ordered a new topend kit. Gonna bore it .60 over. And take the cylinders to a diff shop. For those of you in Michigan, stay away from Funk motorsports in Flatrock....

  21. Evening all, I just finished my first top end rebuild. 30 over bore, superlites, Coolhead w/20 cm domes...... Shee fired up fine . After 15 minutes of slow riding with an occasional rip, I check the plugs. The left cyliner seems a bit darker that the other. I started again and noticed the left cylinder was not blowing as much smoke as the right. The pressure of the exhaust did not seem as strong on the darker plug. This leads me to believe the compression might be different. Should I be concerned about this since the rings are still wearing in? Or, did I dot do something wrong? The coolhead maybe? Those o-rings suck, couldnt get them to stay in the grooves... BTW, Money well spent. I can't believe the difference. Those drag bikes gotta be a blast!
  22. stock jetting are 25 pilots and 200 mains..... I am runnig 290 mains and 30 pilots clip 2 down from blunt end.... 700 ft above sea level... Or whatever michigan is. 85 degrees
  23. Just finished an upper rebuild and decided while it was apart to put on a coolhead. I put in 20cm domes. I should have asked first but..... At sea level (Michigan,) will 20cm domes be ok to run pump gas?
  24. Im down in brooklyn. My shee is blown up.. Getting my cylinders back tomorrow, coolhead and impeller on Monday. Maybe after that Nowhere to rde around here. Have to trailer it up north.
