I'm having the same problem so when you find the problem let me know Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Assuming you're 'piped' with those 290 mains, I guess that the increased compression has left your cylinders short of mixture at idle. ... Use adjusters to icrease idle speed (raise slide). Rare. Quote
Shee-Male Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 If its piped, larger pilots are needed and your gonna have to adjust the pilot screws start at 1 1/2 turns out then adjust you idel screws. Make sure the damb choke tude between the carbs is on aswell! Have fun Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 what about larger pilots ?? 383908[/snapback] If your off-idle to 1/4 throttle and above can take a richer mixture, then try it. ... Yamaha std. pilots (#25) IMO are good for a fair amount of tuning. ... I'd be adjusting my idle at the screws if it's only a tickover problem. Rare. Quote
eehsnab2 Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 There is some adjustment in your throttle cable where the cable and the lever/twist that you can play with to set your idle. I think its much easier to adjust it there then to try to do it on the carbs themselves (if you have already synced your carbs). Quote
Animalman294 Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 You might also check to see if maybe during the assembly process , something may have been dislodged and caught in you pilot jet and just needs to be taken out and cleaned. Its worth the time to check if you take the carbs off anyway..... Quote
