twinzr900 Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 thats a true statement about the t-cat. i love triples. thats why i am buying a 99 ZRT 800. fucking thing screams. Quote
Meat_Head Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 One thing you learn when scrolling through snowmobile forums is that Polaris guys own the fastest sleds around, same for the Yamaha owners,Cat or Ski-doo.They all win 99% of their races and have at least one or more good excuses for their extrememly rare losses. Dead Op Posted June 19, 2005 Author Report Posted June 19, 2005 The f-7 is geared different, it has a tons of stuff done to it, sorry yamaha guys but u do the same to an rx1 and an f-7 ---pipes, heads, ect the f-7 will win, I thought the 900 fusion was fast and then I watched an f-7 and the polaris race, the arctic cat murded it right of the start, the polaris got back up tho but it lost buy 2 lenghts in a 400footer. Long race, RX1 will win. Setup stock srx's will beat a stock f7.... Quote

Master of Faster Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 (edited) It's all in the setup, who works on the sled is what makes it fast. There are no fast stock sleds period. If anybody here wants to run my RX-1 with ANY trail rideable twin on the ice, any distance. Look me up this winter, and bring your money with ya, that's all I got to say. http://www.totallyamaha.net/vids/MVI_0600.AVI By the way, that sled^^^, is completely trailridable and that radar gun says 138 mph. The thing is like 200 horse with just that kit. I'm not shure what hes got done but u cannot ride this thing on the trail! Quote
Dead Op Posted June 20, 2005 Author Report Posted June 20, 2005 138 aint bad but what do you got done to it what distance was that at, i got my pig windin at 135 so far. Quote

I'm not shure what hes got done but u cannot ride this thing on the trail! 383532 My point exactly, a 250-300 hp rx-1 can still be trail ridden all week long, and lay a whoopin on your buddies F-9 on the weekend, that's performance in my book. 138 aint bad but what do you got done to it what distance was that at, i got my pig windin at 135 so far. 383533 135 on the speedo is 118-119 on the radar at best, that RX was readin in the 150's to pull 138 on radar. Big discretion on sled speedo's that most don't account for. Quote
Dead Op Posted June 20, 2005 Author Report Posted June 20, 2005 Icic your point I was talkin about my sled in that, the F-9 will go a lot faster, yet 250 300 horse You gotta race the zrt1200 maybe that is the only thing that can put the Yammi in it's grave Horsepower doesnt mean a reral lot though when it comes to the 1000 yarders, I am shure you will get ur ass handed to you by the zrt in that, where do you live though anywhere near Pa, Tug hill new york? I gotta see this monster, My sled was doing 135 on the radar, at redfield resevoir, NY. Quote
Dead Op Posted June 20, 2005 Author Report Posted June 20, 2005 I meant 1000 footers*** I got over ten grand in my sled, I listed some of the simple shit on the first post. I am shure it will hit 138 no problem, but I know ill get my ass handed by the yammi. Quote
x86 Posted June 20, 2005 Report Posted June 20, 2005 (edited) Well modding a ZR 600 out is for sure the best bang for your buck when it comes to speed. For 10 grand I'd expect my sled to do 135 or i'd be pissed. Read your first post... your buddies new f7 blew up.. if that isn't a wake up call, I don't know what is. I'm sure the zrt1200 would beat his rx-1... but I KNOW that zrt is not trailable. and 1000 footers? If he gears and clutches his rx-1 right, I'd bet he kicks your ass hardcore in 1000'. I'm sorry, but your 'modded' zr 600 is not the biggest baddest sled out there. It's gonna get its ass handed to it by a lot of TRAILABLE sleds. Edited June 20, 2005 by x86 Quote
Master of Faster Posted June 20, 2005 Report Posted June 20, 2005 Deap Op, if you have that much money in your sled and it was doing 135 on radar, then hats off to ya, nothin easy about doin that, especially with a zr600. I was just trying to make the point that the new Yammi's can run with or better than anything out there and still remain trailable in most cases. Yes, there are still some monster nitrous triples out there that can beat the turbos in shorter distances, but it takes alot more cash, alot more time, and an untrailable sled. For my money, the turbo Yammis are where it's at. Props to you for your good runnin sled though Quote
Dead Op Posted June 20, 2005 Author Report Posted June 20, 2005 ICIC good point just thought i would bring somthin up in the hq bout sleds, I know it isn't the baddest sled, but it is nutz for a zr. Yeah his did blow then he got the F-9 kit and he started moded it from their. My sled is a little faster than a zr900 with pipes and aftermarket intake, i raced one last year and beat him, not all of the cash is in the engine though, the new yammis i was just lookin at are huge the 4 cylinders, cept i am hardheaded and like the 2 strokes i guess though the fourstrokes are slowely gaining popularity in the sled world. I would love to get my hands on that zrt i was lookin at up tug hill supposedly the record holder at 175.2 mph. hell we should meet up this winter and go ridin, if i got the f-7 by then... Quote
