REV-I-DOO Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Looks to be that the upeer a-arms are on the wrong sides. Are they? It just doesn't look right. Thet are ASR +1 +2 a-arms. Quote
broke Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 It doesn't look right to me either, what is your caster set at? If the top arm is flipped and the ball joint isn't where it should be, you caster will be off and let you know right away. Quote

I've been studying this pic and I gotta agree, somefin just don't look right. Was thinking that if they are backwards, the upper ball joint would be too far back, to the rear of the bike. But then I started lookin at them there heim joints...they just slide onto the upper mount...I don't think they locate laterally, just provide a pivot point. Am I right??? I dunno... personally I'd try swappin em and see how shee looks. I'd think that big sweeping bend in the upper A-arm should be to the rear, not the front. This would position the upper ball joint further forward in relation to the heim joints. Might also improve the shock clearance too? Just my .02 Quote
Bansh88 Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 I'd just like to know where the hell it's snowing?! Quote
broke Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Here's what my front end looks like, don't mind the bent Heim, I've been meaning to order a new one since October. Quote
locogato11283 Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 bend goes in front. thats how my quicksand arms are. you got it right... Quote
JA66 Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 (edited) Yeah it does look a little funky, but if you did flip it it would make the caster go backwards, I think. How do you like those arms so far? Edited June 8, 2005 by JA66 Quote
REV-I-DOO Posted June 8, 2005 Author Report Posted June 8, 2005 Guess I'll call and ask ASR. They are +1 +2 so they should be offset 2'' forward.....correct? Right now if I stand directly over the upper heim joint, it is farther back than the lower. Sould they line up vertically? Or should the upper heim joint be farther forward than the lower? Quote
broke Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 HHHMMM.... I wonder if i have had mine on wrong from the start? Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 I'd just like to know where the hell it's snowing?! 379003[/snapback] was snowing here all day and it simply sucks. we went from +20 celcious to snow Quote
broke Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 +20 celcious What the hell is that in English? Just kidding. Back to the topic, I looked up Janssens arms and the bend on mine is right for their arms at least. Quote
locogato11283 Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 from quicksand website... just for comparison Quote
sandman121383 Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 nice find loco from the looks of it the bend goes in front! Quote
NickyPap Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 I wonder how many ran out to their shed or garage to dbl check. When I put my arms on I didn't know and had the uppers on the wrong side. There is aslight bend to where the heim threads in also but they should only work one way. dont forget about longer b/lines if your going 2 out / 1 forward.get up on the bumper and make sure everything is ok rather than testing it on a big jump goodluck.
