jblasz Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 I have a 2004 Banshee with 1 summer of riding on it . I recently had some power loss so i did a compression test and i was just under 100 psi. It still starts on 1st or second kick. I am going to tear it down next weekend just wondering if ya think i can still put stock size pistons and rings in or i will have to bore it out. I figured its kind of early for a bore job. And is it normal for them to start on such low compression. Everything is stock. And i live in Buffalo which is about 600ft elevation. Quote
joker149999 Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 You should be alright just using the stock piston's just replace the piston ring's on them and check too make sure the piston liner's still have the cross stiching in them if there still pretty good then yeah just replace the piston ring's and put her back together Quote
SANDSTAR Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 Go to an auto parts store with your jug. Tell them you need to refresh the cross hach in the cylinder. They will give you the tool you need. I forget the name, but it looks like a bunch of pummis stone balls attached to wires attached to a long rod that attaches to a your power drill. a few passes and your cyl. will be as fresh as spring daisys. Get a sportport and port that sucker while you got her torn down. Quote
