+6 timing w/19cc domes PUMP/RACE or just race?

headed to lil sahara sand dunes in oklahoma.. got +6 timing and 19cc domes... dont know compression. leavin tomorrow and gettin gas tonight.. i've ran nothing but 114 trick but i will need bout 20 gallons for the trip and at 4 bucks a gallon its going to cost me just as much to ride as it will for me to drive there

 

anyone run 50/50 or 75/25...

You need to check your compression.......... If your compression is over 150 then you need to run a higher Octane gas. I've always been told 150-165 lbs of compression run 50/50 mix, and anything 165 lbs and above should be straight race gas..

Although that is probably a good rule of thumb, compression is not the only thing that determine's the octane of gas you should run... you really need to factor in many other things than just the cranking compression. You need to take into account things like exhuast duration, bore size, dome size, timing, and, squish clearance to really determine what you need to run.

 

When it doubt run higher octane fuel...

how bout if i run 3 gal of 114 and 1 gal of 97 which gets me right about 110. saves me bout 40 bucks there

 

 

 

EDIT: alright i called up there to LS and they will have enough that i wont need to take any..... im just going to buy AS NEEDED and run STRAIGHT RACE.

I really hate to say yes or no. So many factors can go into what you really need. How much porting has gone into it? Do you know what your exhaust port height is?

if you can get 97 pump you can mix 50/50. I run at glamis which is at or below sea level with 70 race 30 pump(91) with 18cc domes and +6 timing. With my set up I shoot for about 105 octain by mixing.

with timing at +6 i wouldn't run straight pump...not sure why you can't get by with 97, but to be safe i would mix some 110 with it.

going to try one tank with 75/25 race pump and if sheeee no likey.. then f all that and going straight
